Introduction From my country, Costa Rica, I flew to China to pursue my academic desires of science and discovery. Now I am, happily, a student in SJTU for my master degree in the program of bioinformatics and biostatiscs. I believe that the secrets for understanding life lay hidden in the blurry complexity of this world, and the use of all the computational and mathematical tools that humanity has develop will be key in this quest for knowledge in which we are all. Now, living in China, I have the oportunity not only of getting my master degree but also to learn a plurality of new experiences: trees and birds that I have never seen, people that grew in places that I never thought of, and a language as beautiful as the land who saw it burgeon. I want to see and read it all, sadly, I know that is impossible, but I am trying, nonetheless. Not surprisingly, I love novels and poems; also every kind of games, from imagining a land in a tabletop, to the study of the chess moves; is not the life also a game? Education My Research Interests My interests are related to systems biology, statistics, mathematics and bioinformatics. Previously, I worked with agent based models exploring territorial aspects of tropical frogs and also in the mathematical modeling of action potentials. This section related to my current researh is under construction.
