Why do we learn Bioinformatics and Biostatistics?

Biostatistics and bioinformatics involve the theory and application of statistics and/or computer science to a variety of biological topics. The recent advances in basic biology, medicine, pharmacology and agriculture present new challenges for the data analysis and the related tool/source development in biostatistics and bioinformatics area. The workshop aims to provide training to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and multidisciplinary researchers who are interested or already engaged in statistical and bioinformatical analyses in their own research area.
We are delighted to give you a warm welcome to Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Workshop 2017!

Representative Comments

The Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Workshop have been held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2010 to 2016 successully. Across the courses, Dr. Shyr received outstanding ratings and comments from students. Representative comments from previous workshops and lectures include:

  • Great course, like it very much!
  • The best statistical training I had ever joined. Enjoy very much.
  • A much needed course. Look forward to future sessions.
  • Dr. Shyr is a great lecturer, who gives this course in a really enjoyable way!
  • What will you learn this summer
