Database Principle

In this course, by systematic study of basic principles and techniques of database systems and data mining, stimulate students to understand the importance of database and data mining in life science research and widely application. Meanwhile, students will proficiently operate on database management system using SQL, master the technique and procedure of database design, and can design database schema and develop application system. In addition, students will have the ability of using data mining algorithms to analyze large biological dataset.

Computational Systems Biology

In this course, by study of development trends, basic concepts and research fields in computational systems biology, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and biological network modeling, stimulate the students interests in interdisciplinary science to learn about the progress and problems in systems biology. Meanwhile, students will master the practical computational methods and use it to solve some important problems in biology.
